2009 - A year in review...

Yes. It's two days into the year and I feel I need to review.
Jan. 1 - The ceiling started leaking again. Since we're having quite a wet storm come through it was leaking badly. The leak is in the bedroom - right next to the bed. *Drip drip drip* all night long. At least there's the bucket. Right next to the bed. So you can hear *Drip drip drip* all night long.
Jan. 2 - looks like the drip stopped. I wonder why. Oh. There's snow all over everything. I guess that'll stop the *Drip drip drip* for now. Must go to work. Got to work without too much slipping and sliding and the parking lot was an ice skating rink. I'm glad I didn't fall on my ass. About 10:30 AM, my phone quits, and so does my network connection. I switch my laptop to wireless and, thankfully, the wireless is working. I start the phone software on my laptop and call the front desk - they have network and phones up there. I check next door in the temporary QA offices and they have the same issue I do, so I check the switch. It has no power and the UPS is fully drained. Maintenance is looking at the issue and we notice the power outlet says it is fed by panel H. "I don't know where panel H is." says the maintenance person. After a while, he comes back and says the issue is mine. Power is okay. The UPS has died. We go and plug the switch directly into power and it works.
Joy. It's only 2 days into the new year. Can someone just end it peacefully now? Can I get a redo? It's still early.
